Toolbar Buttons Present But Not Functioning
Description
Pushing one of the Efofex toolbar buttons does not do anything.
Cause
Almost certainly the macros in the "dot" file are being disabled. Fixing the problem is dependant on the security settings of your copy of Word. Open Word, go to the Tools menu and select Macros. Select the Security option. Your copy of Word will be set to "Low","Medium","High" or on later versions of Word "Very High". The vast majority of computers will be set to "High" and this is the minimum we would recommend.
Action
- Very High
If your computer is set to very high then the dot files must be placed in a "trusted location" in order for them to run.
This must be done manually by your system administrator. The appropriate dot file will need to be copied to the users
profile (usually C:\Documents and Settings\%USERNAME%\Application Data\Microsoft\Word\STARTUP) and then specifically
loaded by: Opening Word; Go to the Tools menu and select Templates and Addins; Check in the Global Templates & Addins
section. Make sure that appropriate dot file is checked.
- High
When Word first loads the dot file it will inform you that it contains macros signed by Efofex Software. You must place
a check mark in the box marked "Always trust macros from this publisher" and pushing the Enable Macros button.
- Medium or Low
You really should change this to High. These settings are not secure.
